Hi Een. This looks like what happened to me today! I went to a sports med doc and she pushed a needle into the middle of my foot, actually right between the talus bone and the calcaneus (ankle) bone. Then she probed in different directions to see where the needle went deepest before hitting the bone. Hee hee hee he he... eh.. ooh. Then she emptied the syringe of cortizone into it. My, oh my what an interesting feeling. I put a little smiling animal under my foot so that the needle would go straight through just like in your picture, but my bones stopped it. I've never had a foreign object inserted into my foot to the length of an inch and a half or so. The subsequent wiggling was almost as good as the fluid displacing everything that was there before it. Well, enough of that. I'm quite amazed at the trans-Pacific relevance of your drawing today.
